Okay, we admit, we like to save money. Who doesn't? Whenever possible, Blue Talon recommends solutions that involve the use of open source software. Besides the simple fact of saving some (or a lot!) of cash, open source tools are often more flexible, better supported, and feature-rich than proprietary software of the same type. And in case something doesn't work quite right or the way you want, it can be fixed without trying to convince a vendor to make changes and then waiting for a new version to be released months down the road.
